the three albums

ah.. i guess no one comes to my blog anymore.. since i havent been posting. :D

was walking around today and somehow ended up in a music store..
had to urge to buy some music cds... looked up some old school bands that i once used to cover their music.. 'try'..

Anyway, albums i've gotten..

Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight
refreshing. very different from their previous albums. the 'anger' wasn't really in this album.. less screams, shouts.. very little raps too. Overall, it's still great. A little disappointed, cos being used to the previous album, I was expecting probably a different feel on the music than wat this album gave..

Metallica - Death Magnetic
ah.. metallica!! old school heavy metal stuffs. used to enjoy their albums so much, until the Load and Reload albums, which they kinda switched to a more alternative side. short hair hetfield, wearing other colour clothings (instead of black), a Gibson Les Paul rather than an Explorer in the MTV..
anyway, i'm glad i gave this album a try. It's great!! all the heavy stuffs .. are back. :D


Guns n Roses - Chinese Democracy
ok.. yes, i've been complaining to some of you guys on msn... yes, this is probably the reason why I'm blogging about the CDs i bought.

i am disappointed with this album!!!

it's said to be the most expensive album ever made. an album in the making since 13 yrs ago.. but hell.. i really dunno how to express myself on this..
firstly, guns and roses.. wat's guns and roses when the 'GUNS' are no longer there? this album, solely.. Axl Rose.. no Slash, no Duff and the rest of the gang. That doesnt make GNR!
the music, is not at all great too. nothing compared to Use Your Illusion, Appetite for Destruction.. oh no.. wait .. you wouldnt even wanna compare this album with those..

Flight of the Black Bird, FLY!

this is more than a camera. more than a tlr. more than a 35mm film tlr. more than a 35mm film toy tlr. IT's BLACK BIRD, FLY! I mean, look at the design! Look at the colours! I have yet seen pics taken with it, but just by looking at the camera.... i know i want them.. :D

Definitely something that every (most anyway) photographers would want to own, want to collect. right droo?

have you ever had a nightmare so real that you woke up in cold sweat? upon waking, u still had that feeling that it's still happening and something else is still around you? and to make things worse, to have it during the 7th month..

yeh.. i had it last night. yeh.. i woke in cold sweat. though i can't remember most of the details.

the dream started somewhere... where i was with 'someone'. A girl of cos. kinda good times, like strolls on the beach, watching a movie, etc. Definitely a beautiful dream, yet I can't really recall cos wat was about to happen made a deeper impression.

The last thing i remembered about the dream were hugs, kisses, cuddles...

Then I woke. i was on my bed, and something was moving below me. yes BELOW! just inbetween me and the sheets. It became clear that having that 'beautiful' dream with the cuddles and all was the cause of that something moving below me!!

Refusing to open my eyes.. as i was at a point where i couldnt differentiate a dream from wat's really happening. it seems like it was trying to get out of the sheets and pull me down. Finally, I took the courage and opened my eyes, and there i was, in my room, on my own bed.... and it's still moving!!

Then suddenly, a hand grabbed my shoulders...
which gave me a shock.....

and i woke.. still in the same room... same bed... same position..
nothing was moving now. i was really really awake. yet, the fear was still there. The presense of 'something'... was still felt...

yes, i'm kinda 'old for this... yes, i'm a photographer and i do know how to use photoshop...

.... but hell!!! ... met up with noreen and stace that day and they DRAGGED me into this! /faint..

nonetheless, it was fun. :D well, they had most of the fun laughing while doing the 'artwork'.. arghhh..

ps.. do not comment about the poses.. we were merely following the samples on the screen.. /faint..

'Lomoing' for Electrico

Ah.. i was given the opportunity to LOMO the 'We Satellites Tour @ The Butter Factory' for Electrico on 6th Aug '08. They're a great band, a great bunch of people and definitely great music. Yes.. i'll go get their CDs. :P

I used LCA and Horizon on that day. Dark (indoor, it's a pub.. duh!), the nightmare of most lomographers. The risk of not getting anything or getting too much flash.. :(

anyway, here are some sneaks of pics taken that day. :D

There'll be an Exhibition on 22nd Aug '08 of the 8 Lomographers chosen by Objectifs (Singapore Lomography Embassy) and more pics of shots taken by the band themselves during the whole tour. Do pop by and support. :D

Objectif's Session #1 (2008)

yes yes.. i went to the lomo workshop organised by our lomo embassy, Objectif. :D Alot of familiar faces. :D and great to meet new fellow lomographers for the first time. :D

The Diana Collection

haha.. nope.. I wished these were mine too. :P

my first diana was the Diana Classic. Erm.. well, that's about it for the 'vintage' 'collection' of dianas i have.. damnit.. LOL. ohoh.. and another water squirting diana look alike. :D The rest i have are all the Diana+ collection :- diana+, LWC, Meg, rudolf, edelweiss, diana F+, ... and soon.. HK's diana F+. ~evil grin~ haha.. well, I guess it's not that amazing as most are still available in the market, unlike the old rare dianas which only appear on ebay with bids small timers, like myself, can never win.

and so, i can only google on these cameras and admire pics of it on the internet. :P

Snapshot : CNET Asia

Was honored to be featured on the CNET asia site, though a little strange that I'm talking so much about film photography when i've always tot cnet was more about digital stuffs. Well, probably it shows that more people are accepting the 'comeback' of films. :D

Took the advantage to talk a little about Lomotion too. :P afterall, it's becos of Lomotion and it's members that influenced me, encouraged me and made me decide to do more about the scene in Singapore.

Rule #5, 'Approach the objects of your desire as close as possible' was mostly used for this design. Taking snapshots of friends and is common among lomographers and this design tries to portray the 'mischievous' fun. :)
